I received an email today for an offer I really felt would benefit my business. The buy now button highlighted a giant $17.95. “Great deal,” I thought and clicked it. I was taken to an order page where I found there were NO more products available at that price. “Sorry, you’ll have to pay $24.95, and there are only 3 left at this price before it goes up again.” How effective is this pricing strategy? After my grandmother’s death, I spiraled into a fetal-position kind of depression.
